Jammu, May 23 (HS): The police have successfully solved a burglary case and recovered approximately 940 grams of gold and diamond ornaments, as well as cash amounting to Rs 5,57,500/-, and other items worth Rs 1 crore. The police arrested one suspect in connection with the crime.
According to a police spokesperson, the case was registered at Bahu Fort Police Station based on a complaint filed by Rajesh Jain of Trikuta Nagar, Jammu. Mr. Jain reported that unknown thieves had entered his residence and stolen valuable gold and diamond ornaments, along with cash and other items worth Rs 1 crore.
Following the complaint, the police initiated an investigation into the matter. The dedicated teams from Bahu Fort Police Station conducted extensive efforts and utilized CCTV footage from the area to identify a suspect named Sabir, hailing from Raipura Thalliya in Behriach, Uttar Pradesh, with an address at Malik Market in Jammu.
During the interrogation, the accused, Sabir, confessed his involvement in the burglary. Acting on his disclosure, the police were able to recover the stolen items, including the gold and diamond ornaments weighing approximately 940 grams, as well as Rs 5,57,500/- in cash. The total value of the recovered items is estimated to be around Rs 1 crore, stated the police spokesperson.
