Budget 2023-24: Railways Receive Highest Ever Capital Outlay

New Delhi, 01 February (HS): Indian Railways has received a capital outlay of Rs 2.40 lakh crore in the General Budget 2023-24. union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman made this announcement while presenting the General Budget 2023-24 in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday.

The union Finance Minister in her budget speech said that the Indian economy is on the right track, moving towards a bright future. The growth rate of our economy is estimated to be 7 percent in the current financial year.

It is noteworthy that this is the highest ever capital outlay for the Railways. This is nine times the outlay provided to the Railways in 2013-14.

38,800 teachers for Eklavya Model Residential Schools in the next 3 years

The central government will recruit 38,800 teachers and support staff over the next three years in 740 Eklavya Model Residential Schools supporting tribal students.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman while presenting the budget in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday announced good news for the candidates applying for teacher jobs. In his budget speech, he said, the Center will recruit 38,800 teachers and support staff for 740 schools in Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS).

In her fifth budget, Sitharaman announced major schemes for vulnerable tribal groups. He said, ?In order to improve the socio-economic conditions of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs), the Pradhan Mantri PVTG Vikas Mission will be launched. This will provide basic amenities like safe housing, clean drinking water and sanitation to PVTG families and settlements.
