New Delhi: It is now official that Siddaramaiah will assume the role of Chief Minister, while DK Shivakumar will be the sole Deputy Chief Minister of the Karnataka government. KC Venugopal, the Congress party general secretary, has confirmed this development.
Speaking at a press conference held at the AICC office in New Delhi on Thursday, Venugopal stated that DK Shivakumar will be the only Deputy Chief Minister in this government. Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar are scheduled to be sworn in as Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, respectively, on May 20 at 12:30 PM. Additionally, a group of ministers will also take the oath as ministers alongside them, as confirmed by Venugopal.
The leader did not answer on the power sharing issue. For how many years Siddaramaiah will be the CM? He said KPCC president DK Shivakumar will be the chief of the party till Lok Sabha election and he also said that this evening CLP meeting will be held and the MLA formally elect CLP leader.
