Mysuru: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has confidently once again predicted the defeat of former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar and former Deputy Chief Minister Laxman Savadi, who are contesting on Congress tickets from Hubballi-Dharwad Central and Athani constituencies, respectively.
Speaking in the Varuna constituency in support of Minister V Somanna, Shah asserted that both Congress candidates would be soundly defeated by a significant margin in the upcoming elections.
Shah further expressed his belief that Minister V Somanna would emerge victorious in the election, citing a favorable wave in the minister’s favor. He also claimed that the BJP’s track record of winning wherever Prime Minister Modi campaigns would continue in this election as well.
Meanwhile, former Prime Minister and JD(S) patriarch, HD Deve Gowda, has raised questions about Prime Minister Modi’s recent roadshow in the state. Gowda has pointed out that the BJP has weakened in the state and suggested that Modi’s roadshow may not be enough to sway the voters. He further questioned the need for such a campaign, asking if it was an election for Parliament.
