Bommai says everyone know who is doing Bharat Jodo, and who is doing Bharat Todo

Haveri: All know who is doing ‘Bharath Jodo‘ and who’s doing ‘Todo’, said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
Replying to a reporter on KPCC President D.K.Shivakumar’s statement on tearing of Bharath Jodo flex, on arrival at a helipad in C.B.Kolli Polytechnic College Ground here on Thursday, the CM said let Shivakumar say whatever but permission must be obtained for putting up the flex. The BJP need not tear the flex of any political party. Since people knew everything there was no need for him to say much about it.

No decision on SDPI

Asked about banning the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), the CM said the government of India has banned Popular Front of India (PFI) but this organisation had taken different roles. The SDPI is a registered political party with the Election Commission of India and so far, the Central Government has not taken any decision about it. Action will be taken depending upon the developments in the coming days.

On Leader of Opposition in the State Legislative Council B.K.Hariprasad’s statement that the ban on PFI is a political stunt and an election gimmick, Bommai said what else the Congress leader can make a definition. Several disruptive activities and murders had taken place all these years and everything is before their eyes. Besides, the banned organisation had supported terrorist activities. The Congress Party had demanded the banning of PFI both inside the House and the outside. It was up to Hariprasad to think, is it correct of his party to now call it a gimmick?

Asked about the Karnataka Government seeking two acres of land in Goa for the construction of Kannada Bhavan, the CM said he had spoken to his Goa counterpart as well as written to him. The Goa CM has promised to identify suitable land for the same.

Replying to a question on a section of litterateurs supporting Bharath Jodo yatra, Bommai said in this country, there are litterateurs on both sides. While some support the Congress Party and another section support BJP. Bommai ruled out the postponement of the proposed Sahitya Sammelana in Haverii and said it will be held in November as decided earlier. Already preparations are going on in full swing.

Ministers, Shivaram Hebbar, B.C.Patil, MP Shivakumar Udasi, MLA Nehru Olekar and former MLC Mahima Patel and others were present.
