Body of one of the two constables washed away in flash floods of a stream, found

Gadag: The dead body of one of the two police constables who washed away Tondihala-Bandihala Halla (stream) in Kukunoor police station limits was found on Tuesday.

Koppal district Superintendent of Police confirmed this. He said Ningappa Halavagali and Mahesh Andappa Vakrad, attached to Mundaragi police station, were deployed for bandobast duty in Gajendragad on Monday as farmers were staging a massive protest rally in the town.

The duo were on their way to Mundaragi on their bike after finishing their duty, but on the way it started raining heavily, and near Tondihala-Bandihala Halla, their bike lost balance and they fell into the gushing stream, said the SP, and added that out of the two, Ningappa’s body has been recovered, while the search for Mahesh is going on.
