Hubballi: With each passing day, the admission of black fungus-infected (Mucormycosis) patients at the Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) increasing and on Monday the numbers touched 103.
The majority of the patients admitted at the KIMS were from other districts, said the doctors.
The institute received 100 vials of liposomal amphotericin b, a vital drug used in the treatment on Sunday, but on Monday the institute did not receive it. The doctors were waiting for the arrival of the drug.
Patients attendees were also trying to procure it from the market but they unable to source it. With the acute shortage of the drug, doctors finding it difficult to treat the patients’ effectively.
