Hubballi: Former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar has accused BJP National General Secretary (Organization) BL Santosh of being responsible for denying him a ticket to contest the upcoming elections.
Shettar stated that Santosh was the mastermind behind the decision and had conspired against him to promote his preferred candidate, Mahesh Tenginkai, from the Hubballi central constituency.
According to Shettar, Tenginkai was Santosh’s favorite and he had attempted to field him as the candidate in the last assembly election from the Kalaghatagi constituency, but it was later withdrawn due to massive opposition from the party cadre and local people. Shettar alleged that Santosh was always conspiring against him and had humiliated him by denying him a ticket.
Shettar said that fielding Tenginkai from the Hubballi central constituency would harm the party’s prospects and lead to a loss in the constituency. He also criticized Santosh’s decision-making abilities and stated that he had made wrong decisions in the past and continues to do so, which would lead to the BJP suffering in the election.
Shettar joined Congress party on Monday severing ties with the BJP.
