Hubballi: The state BJP has decided to celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday by organising service-related programmes in the state, said state BJP general secretary Mahesh Tenginkai.
Speaking to reporters here on Thursday, the general secretary said that the programmes have been organised to celebrate the birthday of the Prime Minister based on the call given by BJP national president JP Nadda and state BJP president Naleen Kumar Kateel.
Tenginkai said a 15-day-long party campaign “Seva Pakshik” from September 17 to October 2 to mark the 70th birthday of the PM Modi various programmes have been organised by the party.
The BJP Yuva Morcha has organised a blood donation camp on September 17 , and the blood donation will be conducted at all Mandal and district levels. He said with this blood donation drive, the BJYM will try to enter into the Guinness Book of Records. The single-day blood collection through a drive was 61,000 units, and the BJYM will try to collect at least 1.20 lakh units of blood on that day, he said.
Tenginkai said that the BJP medical cell will be conducting free health camps on September 17 and 18 and people will be encouraged to take a preventive dose of the COVID vaccine and it will be made available for the public freely at all the hospitals and PHCs till October 2. At district level, a video on the life of Narendra Modi will be exhibited on September 21 and 22, he added, and added that artificial legs and wheelchairs will be donated to the needy at district level on these days.
On September 24 and 25, the BJP workers will celebrate Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s birthday as Kamalotsava. Special lectures on his life and achievements will be conducted on these days. Party flags would be hoisted on top of BJP workers’ houses on September 25, he said.
From September 25 to 29, the programme would be held at district level with beneficiaries of central government schemes. And beneficiaries would send greeting letters to PM Modi on the same occasion. On October 2, a cleanliness programme will be conducted. And party leaders and workers would wear and buy Khadi clothes to promote Khadi clothes.
State Executive Meeting
The BJP’s state executive meeting will be held in Bengaluru on October 7. The meeting will be attended by the state BJP in charge, Arun Singhh, DK Aruna, CM Bommai, and Nalin Kumar Kateel. The meeting would discuss the upcoming Assembly election, said Tenginkai.
CM Basavaraj Bommai and former chief minister BS Yediyurappa would tour 52 constituencies from October 9 and the State BJP president would tour 52 constituencies from September 27, he said.
The party’s city district president, Sanjay Kapatkar, Siddu Mogalishettar, Ravi Nayak, and others were present.
