Bhatkal: The lifeguards have saved four people from drowning in the sea in two separate incidents.
The lifeguards saved Madhusudhan, 12, Chandan, 16, and Maruti, 21, all of whom are residents of Hovinahadagali in the Ballari district, in the first incident at Gokarna Beach. The three were saved by lifeguards Mohan Ambig, Shivaprasad Ambig, beach supervisor Ravi Naik, and Pravasi Mitra Raghuveer Naik.
In the second incident, which occurred at Murudeshwar Beach, lifeguards rescued Ravindra, 19, of Kolar. A team of eight people came to Murudeshwar to have Darshan of Lord Shiva, and prior to that, they went to have a sea bath, and Ravindra went deep inside the sea and was stuck under a strong current, said sources.
