Bharat Jodo Yatra: On October 16, Congress leaders from Hubballi-Dharwad will walk alongside Rahul Gandhi

Hubballi: On October 16, Congress leaders from Hubballi Central, Hubballi Dharwad West, and Hubballi Dharwad East will march alongside Rahul Gandhi in Molakalmuru. On that day, the leaders join Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra and walk alongside him for about 15 kilometers.

The Congress leaders who were part of the preliminary meeting conducted by the District Congress regarding the leaders’ participation in Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra told this to Hubli Express. According to the leaders, 5,000 people from each Assembly constituency will participate in the Yatra on that day.

The Congress city district and rural district presidents would conduct a meeting with all the block presidents in the coming days, the leaders said, and added that till the culmination of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, the party would conduct all the programmes as part of this historic yatra, they said.

The grand old party has planned to cover at least 20 kms per day. The march will cross 12 states and two Union Territories. It will pass through Kanyakumari, Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Nilambur, Mysuru, Bellary, Raichur, Vikarabad, Nanded, Jalgaon, Jamod, Indore, Kota, Dausa, Alwar, Bulandshahar, Delhi, Ambala, Pathankot, Jammu, and Srinagar among the major cities.

The Bharat Jodo Yatra is receiving a good response from the public. Currently, the party workers and leaders are marching through Kerala, and they will enter Karnataka through Chamaraja Nagar on September 30. The Yatra enters Telangana after passing through Chamaraja Nagar, Mysuru, Kolar, Raichur, and Ballari districts in the state.

Senior Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra likely to join the Yatra in Mysuru. As the Yatra is all set to enter the state on September 30, the rift between KPCC president DK Shivakumar and former CM Siddaramaiah has again come to the fore. “The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has formed a separate team led by Sunil (political strategist Sunil Kanugolu) to conduct daily political analysis,” Shivakumar explained. “There are approximately 600 people across the constituencies who are watching all the probable candidates for Congress.” We may or may not recognise them. They are exploring all sitting, defeated, and aspiring MLAs,” he said, reported national news media.

According to a report, Shivakumar allegedly asked senior Congress leader RV Deshpande to get 5,000 people from his Halyal constituency for the Yatra. But Deshpande allegedly replied that he can’t get people as his constituency is far away. To this DK Shivakumar said, can’t we do it for just one day for the sake of Rahul Gandhi, he asked.

In another meeting DK Shivakumar had allegedly criticised Siddaramotsava, saying that it was not very well planned and stated that freedom which he organised was a more planned one, reported another national daily.
