Bengaluru: Two persons have been arrested by Bengaluru Cubbon Park police for stealing Delhi Capitals‘ team gears.
The captain of the DC team, David Warner, confirmed on social media that the stolen items had been found. The police were able to recover 12 bats, 18 balls, three pairs of pads, two thigh guards, four pairs of gloves, a backpack, and two helmets, worth Rs 16 lakh. However, a few items are still missing.
The accused were identified as B Sudhanshu Kumar Naik and M Cheluvaraju alias Nataraj, both residents of Bengaluru. The police reported that the duo had stolen the gear while transporting them from the hotel where the players were staying to the airport.

The stolen items belonged to Captain David Warner, Yash Dhull, Mitchell Marsh, and Phil Salt. Anand Agarwal, managing director of Express Freight System India, filed a complaint with the Cubbon Park police, stating that a few kit bags were missing out of the 64 that were transported to the Kempegowda International Airport from a hotel.
The police arrested Cheluvaraju, the driver of the vehicle, and Naik, a courier boy. They later recovered the stolen goods from them. The players of Delhi Capital discovered their bats and other gear were missing from their kit bags once they arrived in Delhi from Bengaluru after their match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Saturday. The duo wanted to sell these things, said the police.
