Hubballi: For the better management of traffic in the city during the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the city, police officials attached to the Bengaluru Traffic Police were deployed in the city, said ADGP (Law and Order) Alok Kumar.
He was speaking to reporters after inspecting the Railway Ground where PM Modi will inaugurate National Youth Festival and address the gathering. He said traffic will be closed for half an hour on the route where Modi’s cavalcade passes through. It means that vehicles will be stranded for half an hour when Modi departs for the venue from the airport and returns to the airport after the program, he said.
Modi’s flight is expected to land at 3.25 p.m. and he leaves the ground at 5.30 p.m., said Alok Kumar, and added that in view of the VVIPs’ visit, elaborated security arrangements have been made and around 2900 police personnel have been deployed, apart from the 18 KSRP platoons, City Armed Reserve police, District Arm Reserve Police platoons, Garuda commandos, seven Superintendent of Police officials, 25 DSPs, and 60 Inspectors deployed for the Bandobast.
The ADGP also said that during the PM’s visits, protests, road blockades, or any kind of protests were not allowed, if anyone has problems, they can meet with the DC or Police Commissioner and submit a memorandum.
