New minister Shankar Patil Munenkoppa has said that MLA Arvind Bellad is his close friend and he is not less than a brother to him.
Speaking to reporters during a media interaction program organised by the DDUWJ here on Sunday, Patil said they are good friends and there is no grudge between them.
“Bellad called me today, and yesterday also. There is no rift between us like the media is projecting. I am confident that he will get a good post.”
Munenkoppa said that he is committed to the development of twin cities and promised that all the development works which lagging due to one or another reason would be expedited. He said that after first meeting with the officers concerned to his department, he would tour the city and inspect the various development works with the officials.
He stated that the district administration is fully prepared to tackle the third wave of Covid. He said that the third wave of the pandemic is expected to hit the state in another 30 days, he said quoting the experts.
He said experts said that the third wave is likely to infect children, hence 750 beds reserved for children and more would be reserved if the situation arises. This time there would be no scarcity of oxygen if the pandemic turns worst. ” Our priorities would be to curb the pandemic in the initial stage and people’s cooperation in this regard is important,” he requested the public to follow Covid appropriate behaviour diligently.
