Belagavi: Sharukh’s Pathaan Movie Gets Stiff Opposition from Hindu Activists

Police detain activists who tried to enter the theater in Belagavi

Belagavi: Sharukh Khan’s new movie Pathaan was released worldwide today, and Hindu activists in Belagavi opposed the release of the movie. Hindu activists gathered in front of the Swaroop theatre where the movie was released.

The activists allegedly tore down movie posters and chanted anti-film slogans. They demanded that the movie not be streamed in the cinema. It is said that the police have taken some 30 activists into custody, but it is not yet clear whether a case against them has been registered or not.

Hubli Express tried to contact the local police, but they did not respond to the calls. The film’s Besharam Rang became embroiled in controversy after its release. The movie has been facing boycott calls since then. Hindu activists claim that the song hurts the religious sentiments of Hindus.
