Hubballi: Most people think that Chairman of the Legislative Council Basavaraj Horatti may be a tough person, but in reality, he is a very soft person with a tender heart who quickly responds to people in distress.
Basavaraj Horatti, who was on his way to Bengaluru from Hubballi on Saturday afternoon, noticed a road accident near Kulkunte village in the Chitradurga district and instructed his driver to pull over. Horatti went to the accident scene and comforted the injured. He gave the victim a first aid kit, and his aides administered first aid to the victim.
He immediately dialed the ambulance service and local police. Within no time, the ambulance arrived and they were shifted to a nearby hospital. Horatti remained at the accident spot for nearly 45 minutes, and he personally monitored the shifting process.
Horatti spoke to Hubli Express and said it was a major accident. He said the car toppled after hitting a road divider, and the incident took place in front of his car, which was just 20–25 feet away.
Horatti’s aides said that the car had four passengers and they were returning to Bengaluru from Idagunji.
The injured are Varadaraj, Nagendra Rao, Manjunath, and Mohan Kumar, and all are residents of Bengaluru. One passenger suffered grievous injuries and three others sustained minor injuries, said his associates.
Horatti’s act was lauded by one and all. His Samaritan act won a million hearts. Once again, Horatti proved that he is a man with a golden heart that beats for people in distress.
It was the second time he was helping the victims; he helped accident victims near Sirigere in Chitradurga district last year.
