Bengaluru: Basavaraj Bommai, the Chief Minister of Karnataka, has resigned from his post following BJP’s poor performance in the state assembly election. BJP secured only 65 seats out of 224, while the Congress won a comfortable majority by securing 136 seats. Bommai met with Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot at Raj Bhavan and submitted his resignation.
MLAs Bhairathi Basavaraj, Suresh Kumar, and others were present.
