Ballari police have solved the murder case of RTI activist Sridhar T by arresting six accused.
On July 15 evening, RTI activist Sridhar was brutally murdered while he was having tea at the ADB college campus in Harapanhalli town.
Under the supervision of Harpanhalli DySP Halmurthy Rao, the Ballari Superintendent of Police created three teams to nab the accused, and one team was successful in apprehending six accused.
The accused have been identified as Vagish Basappa, Yallappa Hanumantappa, Hanumanth Goneppa, all of Rayadurga, Halebedar Hanumantha, Myaki Hanumantha, and an advocate, HK Halesh, of Harapanahalli.
According to the police, the motivation for the RTI activist’s murder was that the deceased had filed many complaints against HK Halesh after gathering information about his unlawful land encroachments and illegal activities.
The police have yet to make a few arrests in connection with the murder case, and they are on the lookout for the accused, who is still at large.
Ballari Superintendent of Police Saidulu Adavath praised the efforts of the team that arrested the accused. Harapanhalli Circle Inspector Nagaraj M. Kammar, Harapanhalli Police Sub Inspector Prakash C, Arisikere PSI Kiran Kumar, Halwagalu PSI Prashant Kumar, Chigateri PSI TG Nagaraj, and others worked together to solve the murder case.
