Hubballi: Geeta CD, the Assistant Deputy Commissioner, performed the “Udi” ritual at the Durga Devi temple in Dharwad, as a part of the Vara Mahalaxmi Vruta celebration.
This ritual was organized in accordance with the directives of the endowment department, with the district administration coordinating the Udi program across temples listed by the department.
The officer offered special prayers for the state’s well-being. Subsequently, sacred threads were tied to women devotees’ wrists, and they were offered Udi containing turmeric, vermillion, green bangles, flowers, blouse piece, beetle nut, and beetle leaves.
The event was organized in 880 temples across twin cities, as well as villages and towns within the district.
