Hubballi-Dharwad (West) MLA Arvind Bellad met Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and submitted a request that the Hubballi airport be named after freedom fighter Sangolli Rayanna and Belagavi airport be named after Kittur Rani Channamma, who fought against the Britishers.
In a social media post, Arvind Bellad shared the details. He said that the CM responded positively to his request and assured him that the matter would be discussed in the cabinet meeting and names would be forwarded to the Union Government.
