Arjun Ram Meghwal was appointed as India’s new Law Minister, acquiring additional portfolios previously held by Kiren Rijiju. President Draupadi Murmu, based on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s advice, reallocated ministerial portfolios within the Union Council of Ministers.
Meghwal, currently serving as Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Culture, takes over as Law Minister. Meanwhile, Rijiju, who previously held the Ministry of Law and Justice, now assumes the Ministry of Earth Sciences.
