Bengaluru: Dingaleshwar Swamiji of Balehosur Mutt and other seers of Veerashaiva Lingayat Mutts met Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa amid buzz of a leadership change in the state.
Speaking to reporters, Dingaleshwar Swamiji said that he did not wish to speak on the leadership change issue but informed the delegation that he would abide by the decision of the party high command.
“He seemed happy and told us to let the party high command make a decision,” the seer said.
Various Swamijis have spoken in favour of BS Yediyurappa and warned that the party would face a revolt from the Lingayats if Yediyurappa steps down from the post.
Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri, MLAs Basangouda Patil Yatnal, Arvind Bellad, and Mines and Geology Minister Murugesh Nirani’s names are doing the rounds for the post of CM.
