Chennai: In a significant setback to the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), one of its key allies, the AIADMK, has decided to sever all ties. In a major development, AIADMK’s Deputy Coordinator, KP Munusamy, announced that the party had unanimously passed a resolution to immediately dissolve all connections with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and exit the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

Munusamy pointed to persistent issues with the BJP’s state leadership, particularly their ongoing and unwarranted comments directed towards AIADMK’s former leaders, General Secretary EPS, and party members over the past year, as the primary rationale behind this decision.

“AIADMK unanimously passed a resolution during the meeting. AIADMK is formally ending its association with the BJP and the NDA alliance as of today. The state BJP leadership has been consistently making unnecessary remarks about our former leaders, our General Secretary EPS, and our party members for the past year,” Munusamy declared.
