Agriculture pump sets are the target of thieves in Dharwad district

Dharwad: In the Dharwad district, a new trend in crime is growing. Agriculture pump sets and shutters installed by the farmers at the farm fields to water the crops are becoming easy targets for thieves. In the recent past, such theft cases have happened, and this time as many as four farmers have lost their pump sets.

Interestingly, these theft incidents are happening in Navalgund taluk, the previous one or two cases registered in the recent past were also reported from the taluk.

According to the police, four farmers who had installed 10-HP pump sets worth Rs 32,000 each and shutters Rs 15,000 each and iron rods of Rs 8,000 each to irrigate their farmlands on the banks of Bennihalla lost it. The farmers have registered a case with the Navalgund police, and the police are investigating the case.
