After Shettar’s concern, the CM ordered NWKRTC officials to allot land for the Gokul Road Police Station.

Hubballi: On Sunday, an interesting thing happened at the Inauguration of the Regional Forensic Science Lab in Hubballi.

Former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar, who most of the time avoid sharing space with Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai in public engagements, took part in this programme and when he was requested to speak, he spoke on a variety of topics before focusing on the North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation’s financial situation.

He counselled NWKRTC on how to improve their financial situation. He said that, despite owning a large area of the property in one of Hubballi’s most popular locations, the corporation was careless about how to use the land. They could have made money by constructing commercial complexes along this road. He stated that the officials must consider it.

Shettar questioned the officials about the delay in giving over half an acre of land needed for the construction of the Gokul Road police station. Despite the fact that it is also a government-run organization, NWKRTC authorities are imposing a slew of conditions on the land’s transfer to a government body.

Bommai responded to Shettar’s concerns in his address and directed officials to hand over the land to the Gokul Road police station. He stated that funds for the station’s construction had been released.

Gurudutt Heggade, the NWKRTC MD, answered, “Yes sir, OK sir,” but the CM said that “Okay” or “yes sir” is not enough. He stated that the land should be transferred to the commissionerate by March 31.

The Hubballi RFSL has started functioning in one of the NWKRTC buildings.
