Kalaburagi: A young engineering student, identified as Praveen Kumar Sharanabasappa Patil, 20, reportedly died by suicide, allegedly due to his addiction to the online game PUBG, which resulted in significant financial losses. The tragic incident occurred in the Devi Nagar area of the city.
Praveen, hailing from Sulahalli village in Chittapur taluk, was pursuing a BE degree in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at a private engineering college in Kalaburagi.
Sources indicate that Praveen had borrowed money, which he subsequently lost while playing PUBG. The weight of his financial losses left him disheartened and plunged him into a state of depression. Tragically, he took this drastic step when he was alone at his residence.
