Dharwad: Three Ayyappa Swami devotees from Dharwad were injured and one of them was killed in an accident near Edappal in the Manappuram district of Kerala.
The incident occurred on Tuesday evening when the pilgrims—all residents of Saidapur in Dharwad—were making their way back home from their visit to the Sabarimala shrine.
According to sources, the accident resulted in the death of 10-year-old Sumit Pande and the injuries of Suraj S. Pande, Nikhil V. Pande, and Sushant S. Pande, who have all been sent to Edappal Hospital in Edappal town.
According to reports, their vehicle allegedly collided with a truck on Tuesday night. The survivors have had the full support of Union Minister Pralhad Joshi and Mayor Iresh Anchatgeri, and they have spoken with Union External Affairs Minister V Muralidharan to hasten the completion of the medical and medicolegal requirements.
According to the sources, all the legalities were completed with the help of Union Ministers V Muralidharan, Pralhad Joshi, and Mayor Iresh Anchatgeri, and Sumit’s mortal remains would arrive in Dharwad by this evening.
