Ballari: On Tuesday, a headmistress of a government high school was caught red-handed taking a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a contractor.
According to ACB officers, Abida Begum, headmistress of Government High School in the city’s Radio Park area, demanded Rs 10,000 from Mohammed Zulfiqar, a contractor who built a toilet for differently-abled students, in order for him to provide a taking over certificate.
Mohammed Zulfikar filed a complaint with the ACB in this regard. He went to school on Tuesday to pay Abida Begum Rs 10,000, but the latter was caught red-handed by ACB sleuths. Abida has been arrested, and further investigations are underway.
