Ballari: The officials of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) have nabbed a PSI while accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from a victim in Kampli town.
The ACB said that Basappa, working as a PSI in Kampli station, was demanding a bribe from complainant Narayan Swamy M Buggaiah to release the motorcycle without an IMV fine. The complainant approached the ACB and registered a case with them.
According to the ACB officials, PSI Basappa had demanded Rs 10,000 to release the vehicle. He was caught red-handed while accepting a part of the sum of Rs 5,000 from the victim.
The ACB officers said that the accused has been arrested, the bribe amount has been recovered, and the investigation is going on.
