A woman dies after a live wire falls on her in Gadag

Gadag: A 60-year-old woman died on the spot after an electric wire snapped and fell on her on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as Sushilamma, a resident of Guntur. She came to see her younger sister Geetha, who runs a paying guest facility in Gadag.

According to Geetha, the incident occurred when Sushilamma went to dump waste at an empty site and, at the same time, a power cable snapped and fell on her; a few locals attempted but failed to rescue her. The incident happened near the Kailasa Varasiddhi Vinayaka temple in the city

The victim was rushed to the GIMS Hospital, but it was too late. Betageri Layout police and HESCOM staff visited the spot.
