Hubballi: Around 11 p.m. on Saturday, an ambulance flew off the Unkal overpass, injuring the driver and helper working with the driver.
The injured have been identified as Sandeep Shinde,30, driver of the ambulance, and Manjunath Yaragani, 30, helper. They were admitted to a hospital.
The ambulance, which belonged to the Karnataka Cancer Therapy and Research Institute in Navanagar, was returning to the hospital after dropping a patient off at a hospital in Hubballi, according to the North Traffic Police.
Fortunately, no one was at the spot where the ambulance crashed into the road below, and only the driver and the ambulance’s assistant got minor injuries, according to the police.
The North Traffic Police have started an investigation into the accident, which they believe was caused by the vehicle’s speed.
