Karwar: A 23-year-old youth was missing after a crocodile dragged him into the Kali River. The youth has been identified as Arshad Khan Raichur, a resident of Patel Nagar in Dandeli.

The forest department and fire and emergency department staff are searching for the youth. Dandeli police said that the incident happened on Monday evening.

A local said that a crocodile dragged him into the water while he was washing his hands on the bank of the river. The police said that the youth was a worker working as a fabricator, and as usual, before going home, he went to the river to wash his hands, but in no time, a crocodile dragged him into the water. The locals informed the police and fire personnel, and the search was on, they said.
