Disappointed after her fiance broke off their engagement, a 25-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in her house in Santosh Nagar on Friday night.
The deceased has been identified as Pavitra. Sources said that she was upset after her fiancé broke off the engagement last week. Pavitra was set to marry Abhinandan, a resident of Haveri, and they had gone for a pre-wedding shoot last week, but he suddenly ended the engagement, and since then the girl has been deeply disappointed, sources added.
The parents have lodged a complaint against Abhinandan at Ashok Nagar police station. The investigation is going on.
