4 killed, 20 injured in a collision between luxury bus and truck near Pune

Mumbai, 01 February (HS): Four passengers were killed and 20 injured in a collision between a luxury bus and a truck on the Pune-Solapur highway near Wakhari village in Daund tehsil of Pune district. The incident happened around 5 am on Wednesday.

According to the local people, all the injured have been admitted to private hospitals in Kedgaon, Chauffula and Pune. However, as soon as the information about the incident was received, the team of Yavat police station reached the spot and started investigation.

According to police, a truck’s tire burst near Wakhari village on the Pune-Solapur highway in the morning, due to which the driver had parked the truck on the side of the road. Then the driver of the bus going from Solapur to Pune lost control and collided with the truck.

The deceased in the incident have been identified as Amar Kalshetty, Ganpat Patil, Nitin Shinde and Aarti Birajdar. 20 passengers have been injured in this incident. All the injured are being treated in private hospitals. According to preliminary information, there were 35 passengers in the bus. Yavat police has restored the traffic service after removing the accident bus from the road.
