22 students of a government High School in Kusugal test positive for COVID

Hubballi: As many as 22 students studying in a government high school in Kusugal tested positive for COVID-19. Following the detection of COVID cases, the school was sealed down, said sources.

The students who were asymptomatic for the infection gave their nasopharyngeal swabs during routine collection of swabs for COVID infection testing on Tuesday, and their reports arrived on Wednesday afternoon. All the students are under home isolation and they were doing fine, said sources.

The education department staff said that the students were not vaccinated with the COVID vaccine dose.
