Ranchi, 9 May(HS): A 13-year-old girl, Kajal, saved a 3-year-old boy Shivam by jumping into 40 feet deep well with 15 feet deep water in Jharkhand’s Chatra district.
The boy fell into the well without a guard wall while playing at his maternal grandfather’s residence in Husia village under the Mayurhand block of the said officials.
Kajal, who is the daughter of a daily wage laborer and a class VIII student of Utkramit Madhya Vidyalaya, sustained injuries in the incident.
Kajal Kumari was there when the boy fell into the well. As she noticed the boy falling she jumped into the well without wasting time. She caught the boy with one hand and a motor pipe inside the well from another hand. She kept shouting despite injuries on her head, legs, and other parts of her body. Local villagers who gathered there used a rope to pull the duo out of the well in a one-hour rescue operation, a Hazaribagh resident said.
The matter has been informed to local representatives to ensure that the girl is properly awarded for her bravery, a locality resident said.
