Around 12 crore doses of the Covid vaccine will be available in June, the Health Ministry said on Sunday.
The ministry said the allocation and supply of vaccine to the states and union territories decided on population, consumption pattern of the vaccine and its wastage.
As a free supply from the Government of India, for June 6.09 crore doses of vaccines will be supplied to states and union territories for vaccinating Health Care Workers, Front-Line Workers and those are above 45 years, the ministry said.
Additionally, over 5.86 crore doses will be available for direct procurement by the state, union territories and private hospitals. Hence in June, nearly 12 crores of doses will be available for the vaccination programme, the ministry added.
