Karnataka State Governor Thawhar Chand Gehlot accepted Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa’s resignation. With the acceptance of his resignation, Yediyurappa’s government was dissolved. Yediyurappa will serve as caretaker Chief Minister till a new Chief Minister is chosen.
A delegation of observers from Delhi is expected to arrive in Bengaluru. Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister, would arrive in Bengaluru in the evening. A legislator party meeting will be conducted as part of the procedure to select the new CM. The next CM is expected to be named over the next two to three days.
According to reports, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi would be named the state’s next Chief Minister. According to party insiders, he has a good chance of being assigned the new post by the party’s high command.
