HDMC remove illegal petty shops

Hubballi: In response to public complaints, the Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation removed around 30 tiny shops from the Gabbur Circle on Sunday. Because of numerous little shops, it was impossible for the general public to move on the route, and to provide them hassle-free movement the illegal shops were removed, said HDMC.

Anand Kamble, HDMC zone 11 assistant commissioner, led the clearance drive, and Bendigeri police provided security for HDMC workers and officers.

According to HDMC officials, the shop owners were instructed to remove the shops on their own on Saturday, and while a few shop owners did so following the notification, more than 30 shop owners did not, and the shops were cleared on Sunday.
