Dharwad: Minister Shashikala Jolle has said that before the onset of the third wave of the Covid pandemic, each Taluk Hospital will have a dedicated covid care centre for children and at Primary Health Centres and District Hospitals a dedicated Covid ward for children be established.
She was in Dharwad and after a meeting with the officials she went Kumbar Oni in Kamalapur in Dharwad to meet Shivaji Mallappa Garage (12) and Amruta (12) both lost their parents as a result of the Covid infection, and the minister comforted them. Both children are under the care of their maternal uncle. Jolle stated that under the Mukhya Mantrigala Bala Seva scheme, children who have lost their parents because of Covid would receive Rs 3,500 in monetary assistance every month and a laptop for their higher education.
Rs one lakh would be deposited into the account of an orphaned female child when she turns 21, said Jolle.
