K Ramarajan, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), has been transferred to the Bengaluru City Command Centre and he will take charge as DCP there.
DCP Ramarajan will be replaced by Sahil Bagla, an IPS officer from the 2018 batch. Ramarajan has only been in the office for a year, and a few Hindu organizations have recently demanded his transfer, claiming that the DCP is supporting illegal religious conversions in the city. It is unknown whether Navanagar’s religious conversion issue was the reason for his transfer.
Speaking to www.hubliexpress.com, the DCP told that he was very happy that he got an opportunity to work in the twin cities. He said he got experience of working in such a dynamic city. “My tenure as DCP was fruitful and many aspects of policing I learned here,” he said.
