Hubballi: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has stated that the state government aiming to inoculate at least 90% of the eligible population with at least one dose of the Covid vaccine and 70% with two doses by the end of this year.
Speaking to health care workers at the Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences here on Friday to commemorate India’s 100 crore jabs milestone and the launch of the pneumococcal conjugate vaccine for newborns, the CM said it is an incredible feat.
Just under ten months after the vaccine’s introduction, 100 crore doses have been administered, thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s collective effort and vision, that the feat was achieved said, Chief Minister.
He claimed that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the country turned adversity into opportunity. When the pandemic hit, the government did not have enough PPE kits, gloves, or masks, but the country is now exporting masks and PPE kits, because of the able administration of Narendra Modi, he said.
When the pandemic struck, the state and union governments faced several challenges.
Whether it was a lack of PPE kits, gloves, masks, sanitisers, or, in the second wave, a lack of oxygen, the country surmounted all obstacles and is on the approach of conquering the COVID.
He stated that the struggle against COVID is not over and that we should not quit fighting the disease.
