Deputy Commissioner M Sundaresh Babu in an order has said that only a few activities and services allowed to function. They also restricted unnecessary movement of the public in this period of lockdown, he said.
The DC said only essential service will be available in the next six days, vendors can sell fruits and vegetables using pushcarts or autorickshaws at the doorsteps of buyers. They also permitted home delivery of groceries during this period. Milk shops will remain open between 6 am and 8 am.
The shops selling pesticides, seeds, agriculture-related equipment will remain open till 10 am. All restaurants, hotels, bar and wine shops remain closed.
Banks and post offices work with minimum staff. Those who got permission for marriages from the administration may perform the ceremony. For funeral only five people allowed.
The order of restriction of movement of vehicles would not apply to the government vehicles, those who are on Covid-19 duty, said the DC.
