The Aam Aadmi Party has demanded a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation into the incident of defacing freedom fighter Sangolli Rayanna’s statue and Chattrapati Shivaji statue and smearing ink on the portrait of Lord Basaveshwara.
The AAM party leaders washed the statue of Sangolli Rayanna in Hubballi and paid their respects before submitting a memorandum to the President of India via the Tahsildar.
The AAP members alleged that the incidents that happened in Belagavi and Bengaluru were politically motivated to divert the attention of the house and the public. They requested the President to hand over the investigation of these incidents to the CBI so that the truth could be revealed before the public.
AAP leaders Anantkumar Bugadi, Vikas Soppin, Shashikumar Sullad, Mallappa Tadasad, Naveen Singh Rajput, Mallikarjunayya Hiremath, Hasansab Inamdar, Santosh Mane, and others were present.
